Matthias Veit - Piano

Matthias Veit studied  piano with Gernot Kahl and voice with Susanne Korzuscheck, Peter Elkus and Tom Krause. In addition he attended master classes of which the most important have been those with Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau and Ralf Gothòni. He was honored with various awards in addition to starting an international career including invitations to several international festivals. In 1992 he was awarded the Gundula Janowitz Prize in the International  Schubert Competition in Graz/Austria. Matthias Veit accompanies numerous singers and instrumentalists in recital - amongst them artists like Franz Grundheber or Giora Feidman, Maite Beaumont, Barbara Bonney, Angela Denoke, Christiane Iven, Michaela Kaune, Christina Landshamer, Markus Schäfer, Michael Nagy, Hanna Schwarz and Andreas Schmidt. He worked together with singers like Elly Ameling, Helen Donath, Brigitte Fassbaender, Silvia Geszty, Reri Grist, Cheryl Studer or Tom Krause in international masterclasses. Beside soloistic performances he also performs vocal recitals as a singer. In 1995 founded a piano-duo together with Henning Lucius. In 1996 and 98 he gave his first master class in lied interpretation at the International Festival in Savonlinna / Finland followed by numerous invitations to International Festivals as well as official accompanist in International competitions like the ARD Munich. 1997-99 he has been named professor at the Hamburg Hochschule für Musik, since 1999 he was teaching  at  several Musikhochschul-Institutes in Germany as well as doing continous radio-, TV- and CD-productions
